The Captivating Communication Formula (part 2)

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been talking about what it means to be more captivating in our communication and what charismatic communication looks like. If at any point you’ve been wondering, why is this so important? Why should I pay attention to how charismatic I sound or look? I totally get it. It’s a legitimate question.

There are very few absolutes that I believe in. This is funny coming from someone who used to think very black and white in how I viewed my life, circumstances and the things that happened to me. But the older I get and hopefully a little wise the more I realize that things aren’t as straightforward as we’d like them to be. Especially when it comes to dealing with humans. Life is a paradox. In many ways it’s simple but it’s also complex. As humans, our deeply running desires can probably be boiled down to a handful of things at the same time, dealing with humans and building meaningful relationships is also not easy.

What I’m trying to say here, is the same goes for communication. While I believe that there are a few, simple principles that can really improve one’s communication, I also know there is no such thing as using ONE tool in order to be exceptional. There’s a learning and continued growth that is involved in continuing to become better and better, with communication as well. So, while I don’t believe that developing charisma in your communication will solve all your problems, I do believe it is a pretty big piece of the puzzle.

Here’s what I learned in all my years of chasing to better understand great communication, when you are able to display charisma through your verbal and non-verbal cues, you’ll be more: Respected, listened to, liked, referred and sought after. It will open doors of opportunity more easily for you and your company. And the good news, as I mentioned in last week’s episode, these verbal and non-verbal cues can be learned and practiced.

In last week’s episode we looked at the 3 components of the Captivating Communication Formula. Today we are going to take it a step further and I’ll give you some practical verbal and non-verbal cues you can add to your communication so you can come across more charismatic and captivating. Are you ready? Let’s get to it!

This episode is for you if:

  • You’re looking to continually improve your communication style to become more effective
  • You want to dive deeper into the traits of a great communicator
  • You’re looking for practical ways to refine your non-verbal communication
